Lenses and Their Effects

Various 35mm lenses are discussed along with some basic rules of photography. Images done in the field with different lenses are shown to aid the viewer in deciding which lenses should be part of their equipment. Bob will also discuss getting the correct exposure for photographing the moon.

Exposure and the Effects of Shutter Speeds and Aperture

Bob takes you through the process of making a proper exposure for film and digital and the effects of them. He will show examples of the creative use of shutter speeds and when to use them. Aperture examples for depth of field control and why you need to understand their effect will be shown through many examples. After viewing this tape you will have much more confidence in determining the proper shutter speed and f-stop to use in your nature photography.

Bob Guiliani and his wife, Linda, are owners of Guys & Dolls Photography portrait studio in Clare, MI. His portrait and nature photographs have received national, state, and local awards. He prints all of his work himself, for the studio and his nature art. His capability of capturing the beauty of the world through the camera lens has created artistic prints that have been displayed in art galleries and the walls of businesses and homes.

He has given programs to Professional Photographic Organizations in the U.S. and Canada and to various other groups such as: Michigan Audubon, Sierra Club, Garden Clubs & 4-H Groups. Bob was selected as one of 30 photographers to photograph Michigan during a 24 hour period for a book in conjunction with the Sesquicentennial, has been commissioned to do limited edition prints for various organizations, and has had his images published in various magazines. He teaches photography at Mid-Michigan Community College, offers workshops on nature photography, does guest lectures, travelogues, and has been on TV talk shows. He is a Master Photographer, Photographic Craftsman, nationally certified, and holds a BA and MA in chemistry.
